BSNL PENSIONERS STAGE
DEMOSTRATION

BSNL pensioners of All
India BSNL Pensioners' Welfare Association staged mass demonstration
in front of the office of General Manager Telecom , BSNL Madurai
today .It is staged to draw the attention of the authorities of
Department of Telecom and BSNL to the long pending problem of pension
anomaly of those worked both in DOT and then absrobed in BSNL ,retired
between 01-10-2000 and 1-7-2001.The pensioners also demanded that
those who retired before 10-06-2013 should get 78.2 % IDA merger
befit which is given to the working employees with effect from
1.1.2007.
These two problems are
pending with the standing committee of Department of Pension and
Pension Welfare under the chairmanship of Hon' MOS Shri
V.Narayanasmy. The DoT is delaying in resolving the case in spite of
giving assurance of settling the problems in the standing committee
conducted during February 2013.This has caused lot of unhappiness and heart burn
among the senior citizens of BSNL and now they have come out with
programme Demonstration in all district and state capitals all over
india.The have also planned to stage mass Dharna in Delhi on 23 -10 2013 if the problems are not solved by
then.
The demonstration
attended by about 200 pensioners from Madurai,Theni and Didigul
districts.The arrangements were made by Shri M.Raveendran,president
and Shri G.R.Dharmarajan,Madurai District Secretaray of the district branch of Madurai
